Hello!
My name is Adlen Spinks and I am an artist born and raised in Alabama. I have been an “artist” since I was very young. My parents still have one of my first pieces, a crayon drawing of a truck I drew at about 4 years old in 2005.
I draw inspiration into my artwork from the things I love and choose to surround myself with. I surround and influence myself with many things such as my favorite metal music, plushies, and antiques. I am also influenced by stories from many mediums featuring bad-ass female characters. Most of my works could be seen to focus on womanhood or girlhood. A piece could also be showcasing fashion or an over the top weapon being brandished. If I am feeling particularly stumped on a piece I like to get my creativity flowing by looking at the piece and considering how I could incorporate my favorite colors such as pinks, purples, black, and pastels! All of these influences help me to express the inner parts of myself and my interests outward.
I am graduating from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in the spring of 2025 as a major in Studio Art and a minor in Theatre. I previously attended Judson College and Covenant College before attending UAH. Throughout my academic career I have not only expanded my knowledge in many art mediums but also discovered my passions such as costuming and wig making. Though I am graduating soon I know there is still more I can learn to hone my skills and expand my knowledge!
There is plenty of my current art to see here on my site, but if you stayed to read this then I think you have gotten to know me in some sense. Here on this page I will show you my “first” drawing, the previously mentioned truck. It has spent it’s nearly 20 years of existence in a home’s greatest gallery, the family fridge, and now it exists here in some form as well:
